On Thursday evening, March 31st, 2022, a group of teenagers stole a 2021 Dodge and sped through the streets. Their reckless driving resulted in a crash with another vehicle, killing a man and a woman inside. The accident took place in Newark, New Jersey at the intersection of Elizabeth Avenue and Runyon Street. The stolen Dodge vehicle contained a male driver, a male passenger, and three female passengers. Both the male driver and passenger fled the scene of the crime after the accident. Police are still on the hunt for the teenage male driver. The three female passengers of the stolen Dodge sustained injuries in the crash. Upon colliding with the other vehicle, the stolen Dodge burst into flames as it continued down the street for another block. An eyewitness reported that the area was notoriously bad for reckless driving, and unfortunately, this time resulted in death and injury for those involved.

There are many consequences of reckless driving for all parties involved. In the case mentioned above, innocent lives were taken or injured, and the driver was charged with a criminal offense, often resulting in jail time, and hefty fines all because of the driver’s choice to drive recklessly. Since victims of the reckless driving crash died and were injured in the accident, the driver will be charged criminally, and will most likely be sentenced to two accounts of manslaughter, undoubtedly resulting in incarceration.

Traffic Ticket Attorneys can help in the event of a reckless driving ticket. Although there are no guarantees regarding the case’s outcome in court, having an experienced attorney representing you may help lessen the fines and sentencing of the ticket. Traffic ticket attorneys understand that there are sometimes when the driver is not at fault, or only partially at fault. Faulty brakes and a broken speedometer are both examples that could lead to accidental reckless driving. After being issued a ticket, it is in the best interest of a driver to contact a traffic ticket attorney as soon as possible. During the first initial free consultation, the client will share all the details regarding their ticket and potential accident. A lawyer’s job is not to judge their client, but to remain neutral, and helpful to their client, advocating on their behalf. The attorneys at Rispoli & Borneo P.C. for example, desire their client’s best outcome in court and will work hard to represent them.

A driver responsible for a reckless driving accident will face legal consequences for their actions, as well as mental and emotional consequences as well. Experienced attorneys will advise their clients to seek professional help after such accidents take place. Depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder, otherwise known as PTSD are all common after an accident has occurred.
